Google is beta testing the "By Bicycle" option on their Maps application. Now when you enter your beginning and ending points of your trip, select "By Bicycle" to get the "best" bike route for your trip.

Heard about this on the news today.  Tries to pick the least traficy route.  However, it also tries to pick the least hilly route.  What up with that?
